Efímero Decanter

The Efímero Decanter was designed by Estéban Betancourt during an artist workshop in Poitiers, France. Efímero (ephemeral in Spanish) is a sculptural decanter and vase. Each piece is individually blown by master glassblowers, creating a unique work of functional design. Arranged in a limited series of eleven pieces of varying colours, and a perpetually produced clear variant.

Efímero is designed to be displayed & used during special gatherings, an objet d'art with the intention of sparking conversation. Its abstract form alludes to the human body and to a fluidity that seems suspended in time. A reminder of our fragile existence and the fleeting moments we share on this Earth, Efímero rests delicately on the edge of a cube, creating a tension between its materiality and the viewer’s awareness of the inevitable.
